Shop High Vis Vests
The range of hi vis vests we offer is available online for direct purchase and also custom printed or embroidered. All Reflective Code Red hivis vests are compliant with Australian Standards and stocked in Australia.
Reflective safety vests, often known as hivis vests or reflective vests, increase visibility and hence minimise accidents. Construction workers, traffic cops, and others working at ports, airports, yards, emergency services, and utility jobs are less likely to be involved in workplace accidents as a result of this. Our Code Red Safety vests are made from lightweight polyester fabric that provides excellent breathability when working outdoors and enables the wearer to work for an extended duration. They are comfortable to wear and come in a wide range of configurations to suit all your needs. We also offer non-fluoro vests usually used for identification. You may have a look at one of the most popular colours, pink, by clicking here: Pink High Vis Day Night Vest.
For further security, most of our hivis vests come with velcro that can be quickly secured on and comfortably be worn over regular clothing. Most of our safety vests comply with Australian safety regulations and are extremely customisable. On a case-by-case basis, we may print or embroider the vest. Logos, names, numbers, and other identifying information can be printed on the front left/right or reverse of the safety vest. Our range of code red vests have multiple options to suit Australian businesses. Our budget V22 Hi Vis Vest is our best selling item and is used by couriers, warehouse workers, labourers all around Australia. It can be custom printed or embroidered and is also available for pickup for urgent orders from our warehouse in Sydney. The vest is available in 13 colours, though the most common colour is a high vis Yellow.
The second most popular safety vest is the V32 Hi Vis Day Night Vest. This hivis vest comes in 2 hi vis colours - Orange and Yellow.
Our hivis printing service offers customisation from a low minimum order of only 12 items. We can provide cost effective black printing, or full colour and screen printing services. Screen printing is best suited for orders of 125 or more and for smaller quantities of safety vests, digital printing in full colour is the best alternative. Our printing is done via heat resistant and fade resistant inks ensuring your logo stays on without any cracking or fading.
For any printed orders we also provide a free mockup to ensure the vest is printed as per your requirements. We keep your logo or artwork on file for subsequent orders, so it's easy to re-order and you are ensured the product is going to look the same as your previous order.
What are the 3 main types of safety vests in Australia?
Based on the Australian Standard AS 4602.1:2024 discussed previously, high visibility safety garments, including vests, are categorized into three main classes according to their intended use:
- Class D (Day Use): Designed for visibility during daylight hours, primarily using fluorescent materials.
- Class N (Night Use): Designed for visibility at night using retroreflective materials that shine when light hits them.
- Class D/N (Day/Night Use): Combines features of both Class D and Class N, using both fluorescent and retroreflective materials for visibility in both day and night conditions.
Who must wear a high vis vest?
In Australia, the requirement to wear a high-visibility vest or clothing isn't strictly defined by job title alone, but rather by the potential hazards present in the work environment, as determined by a risk assessment.
Here's a breakdown of who typically must wear hi-vis gear:
- Employer's Responsibility: Under Work Health and Safety (WHS) regulations, the Person Conducting a Business or Undertaking (PCBU), usually the employer, has the primary duty. They must provide hi-vis clothing (as a form of Personal Protective Equipment - PPE) if a risk assessment identifies hazards that cannot be eliminated or adequately controlled by other means, such as risks from moving vehicles, equipment, or low visibility conditions.
- High-Risk Environments: It is legally required or standard policy in many high-risk workplaces, including:
- Construction sites
- Roadwork and traffic management zones
- Railway operations
- Warehouses and factories, especially around moving equipment like forklifts
- Mining sites
- Emergency services (Police, Fire, Ambulance)
- Aviation ground support
- Delivery drivers and transport workers
- Utility workers
- Site-Specific Rules: Construction site managers, for example, must have a hi-vis policy by law and can mandate specific types of hi-vis PPE for all workers, subcontractors, and even visitors on site.
- Worker's Responsibility: Workers issued with hi-vis clothing are required to wear it correctly as instructed. Refusal can lead to disciplinary action.
Essentially, anyone working in or visiting an area where their visibility is crucial for safety, particularly due to vehicle/machinery movement or low light, will likely be required to wear compliant high-visibility clothing.
